Flourish

As I was asking The Lord about a word for my next blog post I heard him clearly say,

Just as the leaves are falling and Autumn is calling, I am asking you to let the dead leaves in your life fall, I am calling you higher.

When I heard The Lord give me this word back in November it reminded me of the scripture in John.

Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that continues to bear fruit, He [repeatedly] prunes, so that it will bear more fruit [even richer and finer fruit].

John 15:1 AMP

I believe this word is for many of us. I believe He is calling each of us higher especially as we enter a new season. We don’t want to carry dead leaves (sin) into the next season of our lives. Dead weight slow us down, oppress us or even prevent us from getting to our next destination. Our next breakthrough. There is no doubt that this is not Gods idea for our lives as He wants us to be going from glory to glory. He wants us to bear fruit and flourish.

Truth is we all would love to live a flourishing life but we don’t like the work we have to do to get there. It’s not something that we can just pray and magically happens overnight. It takes our part and we must be intentional.

The Dictionary defines flourish as a verb (an action)

  1. to be in a vigorous state; thrive
  2. to be in its or one’s prime; be at the height of fame, excellence, influence, etc.
  3. to be successful; prosper
  4. to grow luxuriantly, or thrive in growth, as a plant

The Bible says;

[Growing in grace] they will still thrive and bear fruit and prosperin old age; They will flourish and be vital and fresh [rich in trust and love and contentment]; Psalm 92:14 AMP

I believe without a shadow of a doubt this is a “now” word and God wants us to be activated and effective in this next season. He wants us to grow, thrive, prosper and flourish. So I pray that you would take this word in your heart and be intentional to flourish by first pruning the dead leaves in our life as He calls us higher.

Is your Faith in God?

Jesus replied, “Have faith in God [constantly].“Mark 11:22 AMP

We walk by faith and not by sight, this scripture is simple yet so much deeper. See, there are times as believers we fall into a routine of faith and the phrase we walk by faith begins to loose value in our lives.

Think about it for a minute, if our faith is in God would we let our emotions control our lives?

One day we are soaring on wings like eagles (Isaiah 40:31) and the next we are blown and tossed by the wind (John 1:6) because we doubt God.

For instance; We say God will provide, this will pass, healing is going to come, we stand believing for deliverance, my household will be saved. We can decree and declare things all we want but have we gotten to a place where words of faith have become habitual and there is no faith…no meaning, no belief, no heart, no foundation?

I ask this because many times I see that we (as believers) claim we walk by faith and not by sight but the minute we are thrown a curve ball we panic; we then try to take matters into our own hands. If we find ourselves [constantly] doing this then

our faith becomes dependent on our control of the situation & not in God.

We need to [constantly] self evaluate our lives.

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2 Timothy 3:5 KJV

If our faith was in God who is our strength, our rock, our fortress, our cornerstone we would not be moved by what we see and hear. We would be grounded in The Almighty who is in control. That no matter what it looks like, what it sounds like, what people are saying it would be irrelevant.

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:31 NIV

We need to come to a place where it does not matter what comes our way because our faith is in God [constantly].

Rise Up Beloved!

Rise Up Beloved!

I am going to add a disclaimer here because I am not telling you that I know it all but I will tell you that this has been on my spirit for a couple of weeks now and continues to intensify as the days pass by.

On August 21, 2017 we had a “GRAND” event take place, the solar eclipse and everyone was talking about it. It was every headline on the news, people trying to figure out where to purchase glasses because they were selling out and were driving x amount of miles to be able to get a good glimpse of this historic moment.

According to Astronomy Magazine   the eclipse was the MOST VIEWED eclipse ever!! They based their proclamations on these four factors:

1) the attention it got from the media; 2) the superb coverage of the highway system in our country; 3) the typical weather on that date; and 4) the vast number of people who had access to it from nearby large cities.

All these reasons might be great and what not but what does the Bible tell us? What are these signs pointing to? Why so much commotion? What are we really witnessing? Why is it important for the body of Christ to pay attention?

And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Luke 21:25-26 NKJV

As I sat observing what was happening, I had to dig deeper, I felt there was something much deeper to this than what our eyes could see. What I found out was pretty remarkable, the timing of this eclipse was at the beginning of a new Hebrew month called Elul, Rosh Chodesh Elul began at sundown on Mon, 21 August 2017. Elul is a time of repentance in preparation for the high holidays of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. So as of right now we officially are in the middle of those 40 days of repentance which I found to be astounding. Could God possibly be trying to tell us something? Is God trying to get our attention?

Well beloved lets go further, a couple of days after the eclipse, Harvey hit Houston and this past week we have witnessed Hurricane Irma, Jose, Katia, an earthquake in Mexico & Japan, lights in the sky of Mexico, South Asia flooding, possible tsunami, rumor of wars, people fleeing in fear of their lives, locust invasion and prior to the eclipse there was a huge white supremacist rally in Charlottesville that caused a lot of division, hate, death and I’m sure there are so much more things I have missed… my point is that I strongly believe that God is trying to wake us up in this hour and bring us back to a place of repentance but true repentance. He is warning us beloved, giving us a chance to repent and return to Him. It’s not time to be lukewarm.

You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Earthquakes and famines, and all the signs are only the contractions of what’s coming. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. Matthew 24: 6-8 NKJV

I read this article in Charisma Magazine where Pastor Hery states,

“In this sermon, I said I wasn’t going to speculate on Irma whether it came as wrath from God, from the devil or just simply the season where the earth needs to be refreshed. However, I did mention that God is allowing this hurricane to happen to get our attention. We are bickering about our president; we are divided, with so much racism and police brutality. We should be called “the Divided States of America” instead. Hopefully, this catastrophe will unite us more.”

YESSSS!! WE THE BODY OF CHRIST NEED TO UNITE, REPENT AND PRAY.

There are so many other people in the body of Christ that are feeling the alarms going off in their spirit as well. Here is just another little nugget of confirmation, I am currently taking a class at my home church and this past week was week of repentance. Coincidence? Let me share our week scripture with you that just goes hand in hand with what is going on right now and this blog post.

Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. 2 Corinthians 7: 9-10 NKJV

It is easy to fall in worldly sorrow, “oh I messed up God forgive me, I’ll try to do better next time” but godly sorrow is true repentance which is surrender, commitment to turn from sin and walk in obedience with God. Worldly sorrow leads to death but godly sorrow will lead to salvation and restoration.

We must repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand. With every ounce of my body soul and mind I don’t believe this is just coincidence or something to look at casually. I felt such an urgency to publish this blog post and feel it is a timely one. Repentance is not an easy word to deliver but I just want to share what God orders to put out. At the end it’s not about me but all about Him and you beloved. I strongly feel that its time to wake up. To stop sitting on the sidelines and rise up. Every headline is saying we have never seen anything like this in history… you might think Christians have been prophessing that Jesus Second Coming is around the corner for a long time but beloved it is so different this time. I am urging you to pick up your sword, renounce everything that is trying to rise up against you right now and fight the good fight. We must push the kingdom of darkness back and engage in bringing the Kingdom of God forth as if our life depended on it. We are living in the last days, no one knows the day or time He will return, maybe it wont be next week or month but Gods timing is so different from ours and we must be found ready & spotless.

First of all, I want you to know that in the last days men will laugh at the truth. They will follow their own sinful desires. They will say, “He promised to come again. Where is He? Since our early fathers died, everything is the same from the beginning of the world. 2 Peter 3: 3-4 NLV

But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells. So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 2 Peter 3:8-14 NIV

As we are walking through this storm, violence, time, season I encourage to not be afraid. Be of good cheer. Take Courage! Repent! Rise up and be ready!

Thus says the LORD, “Do not learn the way of the nations, And do not be terrified by the signs of the heavens Although the nations are terrified by them; Jeremiah 10:2

Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near. Luke 21:28 NKJV

AMEN.

It’s A Process || Trust the Vision

It’s A Process || Trust the Vision

How many times have you heard the phrase…

IT’S A PROCESS.

I’m sure you can come up with quite a few. Here are a couple;

Transition to blonde hair.

Weight loss.

Blogging.

Mourning.

Healing.

Faith.

I remember there was a time when I was trying to go blonde and felt all I ever heard was, “it’s a process, we will get there.” I wanted quick results. I don’t know about you but I had a hard time finding a good hairdresser or I should say a hairdresser I could trust. I remember the first time I went to a hair salon and wanted to go blonde, I was so upset. I thought to myself, I am never going  back! I just paid “x” amount of money to walk out looking the same (to my knowledge). Truth is, she had to color-correct my hair from the damage I had done to my hair. After calming down, I decided I would go back one more time. Let me tell you, I am so glad I did. To this day best decision I made; not only for my hair but I gained a lifelong friend in the process.

You see, she is a hairdresser, she knew what she was doing, she knew the goal, she knew the end result but because I am not a hairdresser I could only judge from the appearance.

Many times we give up instead of sticking through the process. Process takes time. Process takes work.

To better understand PROCESS here is the definition (according to google search)

Process is;

  • a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end.a natural or involuntary series of changes.

I like where it says “a natural or involuntary series of changes.”

We can not see process at work. It’s like faith. We believe yet we have not seen. God is always at work in our lives. Gods process is never going to look like what we want it to look like or what we believe it will look like.

My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. Isaiah 55:8 NLT

We were created by God. He is the author of our faith. He knows our end result. He is Beginning and The End. Each of us were created on purpose for a purpose. Each process will look different.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 ESV

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…Hebrews 12:2 NKJV

We are a work in progress.

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6 NKJV

We go from glory to glory.

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV

No one has arrived.

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Chris Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6 NLT

Before we came to God we created a mess of our life. A mess that only he can correct. A mess that only he can use for good but it is a process. Sometimes we give up because we feel like nothing is changing. We get discouraged. We give up for lack of faith. Process takes time. Take courage in the fact that God is on your side working out every loop in your life. Everyone’s process is different.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Galatians 6:9 NLT
